Biography

Dr. Abdirashid Afisheikh is a distinguished legal scholar and community leader with extensive academic training and professional experience in constitutional law, federalism, family mediation, and Islamic legal matters. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the International University of Africa, Khartoum, Sudan, and a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He is currently a PhD Candidate at Washington University, School of Law, specializing in Federalism and Constitutional Law. Dr. Afisheikh is registered as an Attorney (not licensed) in the State of Minnesota. While not practicing as a licensed attorney, he operates a professional office in Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he practices under Rule 114 of Minnesota State Laws. He is a licensed Family Mediator under the Minnesota Judicial Branch – ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Program, focusing on family law matters. His practice covers a wide range of family-related disputes, handled exclusively in the capacity of a family mediator, not as an attorney.
